My family have been loyal, yearly visitors to P.E.I. since 1989. In 2024, we had the opportunity to build a place for ourselves on the Island.

Being from out of province, we were fully prepared to pay the $1.50 per $100 of assessed value for our property taxes. It is critical to understand, as you read on, that my husband and I are fierce, long-term defenders and protectors of the Island way of life and its unique communities and position as a province in Canada.

We are now faced with an additional property tax. This one feels punitive.
