I am a regular visitor to the Royalty Crossing Mall, where I take my daily walk to stay active in a safe, climate-controlled environment. While the mall is a great place for the community to get their steps in, a long-standing issue has become a serious safety hazard: the motorized “stuffy riders.”

These toys have been in the mall for years, but the way they are being operated is a menace to people inside the mall. Recently, I was clipped from behind by a child going full speed. The child was looking to the side rather than where they were going, and I went down hard on the tile floor, injuring my knees, elbows and chest.

I don’t blame the children, but I do wonder where the parents are. I often see kids........
