A little bright yellow bird has been drawing quite a crowd this spring up at the Tiny Marsh, just north of Elmvale.

He is a prothonotary warbler, one of only 30 mature individuals of his kind in Canada. Most of his other relatives are hanging out down at Point Pelee. What drew him to the Tiny Marsh is anybody’s guess, but he is this year’s star attraction among the 250 species found there, many, like him, protected under Ontario’s Endangered Species Act (ESA).

However, by the time you read this he, along with everything else covered by the ESA, may be closer to becoming extinct so developers can........
