The hidden Windows feature that speeds up a sluggish system: Why Microsoft’s PC Manager is the tool you actually need
Every day some aspect of the internet makes headlines, such as the endless warnings about social media or artificial intelligence.
Yet, there are plenty of small items that don’t make the news but could be of importance to you and perhaps actually alter how you use the internet or your computer.
Here are a couple which I’ve come across recently.
A common complaint about a Windows computer is that it slows down over time as unwanted programs run at start up and hog resources and the drive gets cluttered with old unused files.
There are “free” system optimizers, such as CCleaner and Iolo System Mechanic, which claim they’ll perk up a pokey computer, but the free versions are pretty limited and the really useful features are only available if you pay for an upgrade.
However, Microsoft has quietly released a free program called PC Manager for Windows 10 and 11 computers.
