If you have ever wished you could go back in time 50 years ago, to the summer of 1976, you’ll likely be interested in a new exhibit — A Peterborough Summer: 1976.

Curated by Will Pearson, a volunteer for Trent Valley Archives (TVA), the exhibit is a collection of photographs that highlight what summer in Peterborough looked like 50 years ago, focusing on average Peterborough residents and moments in their daily lives. All photographs were scanned from the TVA’s Peterborough Examiner collection of negatives; snapshots taken by Examiner photographers in 1976.

The exhibit is on display at Dreams of Beans Cafe, 141 Charlotte St., now until Sept. 2. The café is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Prior to opening at Dreams of Beans, the exhibit was taken on the road. You may have spotted it at the Second Saturday Sidewalk Sale, a Movies at the Park event, or the First Friday Art Crawl.
