Get creative at Open Arts Studio

A weekly Open Arts Studio offers community members the opportunity to create, connect and make art.

One City Peterborough hosts the program every Wednesday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Artspace, 378 Aylmer St. N. Anyone interested in creative expression through artmaking is welcome and no experience is required.

Artspace provides a variety of art supplies, or you are welcome to bring your own projects. Participants learn from one another, try out new mediums, practise skills and collaborate on group projects. It is an inviting and inclusive space, and tea and cookies are served.

Open Arts Studio is one of the community development programs offered by One City Peterborough. Programs aim to meet the community’s basic needs that go beyond food and shelter. They also contribute to One City Peterborough’s vision that the city has inclusive public spaces and programs for people to participate, create and connect.

“Home is created and fostered when people are invited to care for one another and for themselves; when people are valued and shown that they belong,” says Jenny........
