Explore the romance of beginnings with ‘Rinse’ at Market Hall
Public Energy Performing Arts is presenting “Rinse,” an internationally acclaimed dance theatre work on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Market Hall Performing Arts Centre.
“Rinse” was created by Indigenous dance artist Amrita Hepi (Bundjulung/Ngapuhi Territories, Australia) and theatre maker Mish Grigor. It combines both dance and storytelling within a minimalist set design in icy blue and white. “Rinse” explores the romance of beginnings — and the inevitable question of what comes after.
It also asks: What is it about beginnings that is so intoxicating? Why is it that when something is about to end, we begin to want to save it?
Rinse comes to Peterborough from Australia, having previously toured to Germany, Turkey, France, the U.K. and the U.S. Described by organizers as “an intimate yet epic solo performance … based on a dynamic improvisational score, ‘Rinse’ is a witty, invigorating and politically, culturally and globally astute piece of danced theatre by an internationally acclaimed artist at the top of her game.”
Tickets are $10 to $50 on a sliding scale pricing, with a suggested price of $30. For........
