Buckhorn’s Mainstreet Bar and Grill becomes The Tankhouse on Trent

A new restaurant, renovated from the inside out, will meet residents, tourists and boating visitors in Buckhorn this summer.

Formally Mainstreet Bar and Grill, owners Korina Schonberg and Allan Nelson have given the well-known establishment a facelift and new name. It is now known as The Tankhouse on Trent.

The kitchen has been remodelled, a new bar has been built and a newly decorated patio awaits.

The aim was to create an English-style pub.

The summer menu starts May 1 and runs through September. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

When the owners were discussing what to name the new restaurant they decided to bring back one of their former restaurant names — Tankhouse. They owned a Tankhouse and Sin City in Peterborough and presently run Lock 27 Tap & Grill in Young’s Point.

Back in Buckhorn, there will be live entertainment........
