Friends in Music welcoming new members |
Friends in Music, a community band for all ages and abilities, is beginning its new season, with rehearsals starting on Thursday, Jan. 8.
It takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at James Strath Public School, located at 1175 Brealey Dr., and subsequently on Thursdays at Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School, 1009 Armour Rd.
The band plays music in a variety of styles and genres, and welcomes musicians of all backgrounds. Anyone who plays woodwinds, percussion and brass is welcome to join the band. No auditions are required.
The group’s members include everyone from high school students to retirees, playing everything from classical and band literature to musicals and modern pop songs.
