Fibre artists weave together to host festival and sale in Peterborough |
The Peterborough Weavers and Spinners Guild (PWSG) will be hosting its annual Fibre Arts Festival and Sale at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr., on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5, with children accompanied by an adult free. There will be free draws.
“There will be approximately 40 vendors across Ontario with all sorts of fibre-themed items,” says Darlene Fallis, show co-ordinator.
The event will showcase weaving, spinning, wool felt supplies and art, embroidery, rug hooking, local fibre farms, fibre mills and more. There will be fibre-related displays such as alpaca, cotton, wool, mohair, and equipment, along with demonstrations and a PWSG information table.
The Peterborough Weavers and Spinners Guild has been operating since 1955 and supports the Artisans Centre Peterborough, where the group has been located since 2019 in Peterborough Square. The guild hosts classes on spinning and weaving and more. For more information,........
