Trillium Foundation funds major Norwood Curling Club upgrade

An Ontario Trillium Foundation grant of $166,200 has funded a new roof for Norwood’s Centennial Sports Complex — home of the Norwood Curling Club.

Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini recently visited the club to recognize the impact of a $166,200 capital grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

The year-long grant supported major infrastructure upgrades that were completed in the summer of 2025, including the replacement of the roof.

“Our government is proud to invest in the spaces that bring communities together, support local volunteers, and strengthen recreation across rural Ontario,” Piccini said in a Dec. 12 media release. “The Norwood Curling Club is a cornerstone of this community and this investment ensures it remains strong for generations to come.”

The grant enabled the club to replace the original roof on the nearly 50-year-old portion of the facility. The section that houses the ice surface is an important venue for the annual Norwood Fair and is used year-round for a variety of community events, weddings, gatherings and sporting events, including the popular sport of pickleball.
