Hockey stick evolution a reminder of how fast time flies
I was recently reminded of my age, courtesy of one of my 9-year-old son’s friends. We were browsing goalie sticks inside a hockey store, when the aforementioned youngster reminded me that the goalie sticks I used during my playing career were heavy and made of wood.
I immediately reflected on my age and how quickly time goes by as a father. I also acknowledged that the young boy’s statement was very accurate. During my playing career, composite goalie sticks were not yet a thing. I was used to utilizing a variety of wooden goalie sticks.
This included sticks manufactured by Bauer, Koho, Christian and Reebok. Most goalies growing up in the 90s will reminisce over Christian introducing the Curtis Curve.
