Mini-Israel in India: A Jewish Enclave or Strategic Infiltration?

Have you ever thought that a country boasting a beautiful tourist place is not allowing its own citizens to visit it, or if allowed, then with extreme restrictions? Yes, India has been doing that for a very long time. Where do Israeli soldiers go after killing innocents in Palestine? They directly come to India. To Goa, Himachal, Dharamkot, Pushkar, and Kasol, also known as the ‘hummus trail,’ which is built around Israeli backpacker culture. Every year, 30-50,000 Israelis travel to India. India is one of Israel’s biggest getaway destinations. These are not usual journeys; rather, these are state-sanctioned and military-approved detox trips that the IDF is taking to India. Israel also calls them the post-army ‘big trip’ for their soldiers to disconnect from what they have done in Gaza. Let’s delve into the critical analysis of exactly what is going on in Northern India.

Hostels in Dharamkot are covered in stickers and flags glorifying IDF units active in Gaza. Goa hosts raves and drug parties. Dharamshala has an Israeli enclave called “mini-Israel.” In Pushkar, shopkeepers speak Hebrew, restaurants serve Israeli food, and menus rename their dishes after Israeli tastes. Basically, India has become a rehab center for IDF soldiers committing genocide in Gaza. Even though these Israeli soldiers are war criminals, the Indian government is actively hosting them. This is because India had never signed the Rome Statute. It can’t arrest foreign soldiers accused of genocide. 

Along with this, India is closely associated with the Israeli armament industry because it has been reported that India spends about 3 billion dollars a year on Israeli missiles, drones, and surveillance equipment, which is a byproduct of testing on Palestinians in Gaza. Likewise, the same Islamophobic vision is shared by both India and Israel under the leadership of Modi and Netanyahu, respectively. The former are adhering to
