Justice delayed

One day before the 73rd independence Day of Pakistan, a student of Karachi University, Hayat Baloch, was killed by a soldier of Frontier Corps in Absor, Turbat, after an IED attack on a vehicle of FC convoy

Right after the attack, the soldiers surrounded the area. Four or five FC soldiers entered the nearby date farm where Hayat Baloch was working on the orchards of his father. Without interrogating Hayat about anything, they brought him down from the date tree and dragged him towards the road. His old parents followed their son vociferating time and again that Hayat was a student and had been working with them since morning, and had nothing to do with the attack, but they were not listened to. On the road in front of his parents, Hayat was shot eight times. He died on the spot.

The enraged Baloch community skipped the celebration of the Independence Day and marched on roads, asking for the administration of justice and to bring the culprits before the courts without any pressures.

Later on, the IG FC took notice of the incident after an internal inquiry and handed over the accused soldier Shahid to the Turbat police for further investigation. The IG FC also visited Hayat’s father and assured him that they would do their best to provide justice to their........
