Strategic communication: Missing dimension of national power
IN contemporary international relations, power is no longer measured solely by military strength, economic resources or diplomatic influence. Equally important is a state’s ability to communicate its policies, shape perceptions and project its narrative effectively before domestic and international audiences. In an era dominated by 24-hour news cycles, digital platforms and information warfare, strategic communication has emerged as an essential instrument of national power. Many countries invest heavily in developing coherent communication strategies that align national objectives with public messaging. Governments increasingly recognize that even well-crafted policies can fail to achieve their intended impact if they are poorly communicated.
