PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather for Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday evening/night, Wednesday and Thursday.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect north-eastern parts of Balochistan and southern Punjab in next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province including Peshawar on Tuesday evening/night and the next two days.

Freezing and partly cloudy weather with isolated rain/snowfall is likely in upper districts during the period.

Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 02-04 C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, cold and partly cloudy weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. Freezing and partly cloudy weather prevailed in upper districts.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 14 C below freezing.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 57 per cent.
