IN today’s complex security environment, Afghanistan’s role as a central player in the Great Power Competition cannot be overstated.

The country, long plagued by instability and conflict, continues to hold significant geopolitical weight. Reports from the United Nations and other international bodies point to the ever-present danger of militant regrouping within Afghanistan, further exacerbating security concerns for neighboring states and beyond. Despite global awareness of Afghanistan’s status as a terrorism hotbed, a collective, unified response remains absent, highlighting the strategic value of Afghanistan’s instability for some of the world’s major powers.
