Arctic is in trouble: Climate change conundrum

FIRST, according to a recent CNN report, the Arctic region is in trouble due to its declining sea ice levels.

This CNN report has also warned of significant impacts on Mother Earth’s ecosystems worldwide. Besides this, the green and climate activist Greta Thunberg has taken a strong swipe at the world leaders again for inaction on the “looming” climate crisis. Addressing the climate crisis is a collective responsibility. Hardly has there ever been action on this serious issue. Even such serious talks have been taking place on and off. However, this Swede has been pitching for the green cause for a long time. “Still, we all have been speeding in the wrong direction,” says Greta Thunberg of the climate conundrum.

Additionally, the UN has vigorously responded to the issue of climate change, engaging in a deep discussion of the challenges posed by the climate crisis. This news piece has garnered global attention, having been featured by prominent media outlets such as CNN. It is time to create such serious climate change talks on the world stage. The factors contributing to the climate crisis, such as carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, must be appropriately addressed, as outlined at climate change summits so far.

Volatile weather patterns and climate change impacts have begun to impact the world’s growth. Intense tropical storms have become the order of the day. Just as on the American continent, Asian nations have been experiencing numerous storm systems. There have been several cyclonic systems off my native areas, like Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. It is time to make the most of monsoon rainfall, tapping only the beneficial aspects, regardless of opposing sides.

Aside from this, there have been reports of extensive deforestation activities occurring in the Amazon rainforest. The fact that the Amazon has been home to rich biodiversity and green cover in the world should dawn on everyone out there to protect this rich green area forever, even as it is time to make certain that “ranching activities”, though necessary, will not come in the way of green activities. In short, the globe and its regions have long been natural gifts to human society. Therefore, the international community should also prepare to address climate challenges through cooperation and robust green strategies.

I often see news of the young climate change activist Greta Thunberg. The fact that she has been raising her voice for green causes and climate change awareness has just begun to inspire many countries and people worldwide. I recall her being interviewed on TV recently. As a young student, her awareness of speech and responsibility for climate issues has been overwhelming and more interesting. Kudos to her and my best wishes on her climate change mission. Such interesting things and responsible persons should be encouraged to the greatest extent possible on the international stage.

I, as a person, have been encouraged by such inspiring stories and great people in my native areas. Sincerely, I have been advocating for positive and beautiful changes on the social front, starting in my hometown of Korkai, Kanyakumari and have also been a strong supporter of agricultural activities that involve my friends and family.
