Lessons from Surah Ibrahim |
“Do they not earnestly seek to reflect upon the Quran, or their hearts locked up by them? Surah Muhammad- Ayat 24”
SURAH Ibrahim contains profound lessons about faith, gratitude, patience, trust in Allah, and the responsible use of His blessings. It reminds us that faith is not merely something we profess; it should transform the way we think, behave and live. Gratitude for Allah’s blessings: Allah says: “If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, surely My punishment is severe.” Surah Ibrahim 14:7. Gratitude is much more than saying Alhamdulillah. It means recognising Allah as the true source of our blessings and using those blessings responsibly.
When difficulties come, we should respond with patience; when blessings come, we should respond with gratitude. Blessings are not limited to wealth and possessions. Faith, knowledge, intelligence, abilities, time, and opportunities to do good are also blessings from Allah. When we say, “This was possible through Allah’s guidance and help,” we acknowledge His favour and protect ourselves from arrogance. True gratitude brings humility because we recognize that whatever we have ultimately comes from Allah. Allah says: “If you and everyone on earth were to be ungrateful, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.” Surah Ibrahim 14:8. Allah does not need our gratitude; we need gratitude to become better human beings.
