New Year and self-accountability
In life, a Muslim is accountable for his deeds and is expected to uphold integrity and the value of life.
Even a good-natured individual may not automatically receive Allah’s blessings. It is therefore essential for Muslims to constantly pray for guidance and blessings from Allah to live according to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions. With strong self-accountability, Muslims can accomplish daily tasks while remaining mindful of these spiritual obligations, earning reward and success in this world and the Hereafter.
Our pious predecessors placed immense value on self-accountability and the wise use of time. To succeed both in this life and the Hereafter, Muslims must develop the habit of reflecting on their actions. Self-accountability involves evaluating one’s life: how many good deeds have we performed and how many sins have we committed?........
