Lawyers, engineers or politicians?
The U.S. has more than 1.3 million lawyers. In the U.S. – thanks to endless environmental reviews and lawsuits – it takes seven years and $1 billion to build a mile of subway track. China is churning out 1.3 million engineers every year. In China, they lay down 2,000 miles of high-speed rail in the time it takes America to debate one bridge.
The U.S. – thanks to complex procurement processes delaying projects like fighter jets by years – spends $850 billion annually on defense. China spends $250 billion on defense because China rapidly deploys advanced drones and naval ships, commissioning entire fleets in the time it takes the U.S. to approve a single aircraft carrier upgrade.
The United States produces approximately 4,000 TWh of electricity annually. However, due to regulatory challenges and lengthy approval processes, constructing a nuclear power plant in the U.S.........
