Fatima Jinnah: Symbol of democracy & solidarity

FATIMA Jinnah was a towering figure, pioneering stateswoman, Iron Lady and one of the leading founders of Pakistan. She was the younger sister of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and stood shoulder to shoulder with him in the struggle for the creation of Pakistan. She was his closest confidante, adviser and companion and played a monumental role in the Pakistan Movement. Widely revered as Mader-e-Millat (Mother of the Nation), she became renowned for her dynamic, decisive and socio-political leadership. Fatima Jinnah’s legacy as a champion of democracy and national solidarity remains highly significant, characterized by transformative leadership that strengthened the country’s unity and integration. She consistently advocated accountability, respect for human rights and representative governance in Pakistan.

Historically, Fatima Jinnah galvanized the women of British India by organizing the All-India Muslim Women’s Students Federation and leading the Muslim Women’s Committee. These efforts mobilized Muslim women into the political sphere and........
