When it comes to the federal public service, the Justin Trudeau government seems to be having a bad case of buyer’s remorse. After inflating the employee count by 42 per cent since 2015, the government has suddenly discovered that a really big public service has really big costs. Now, the Liberals are scrambling to go backwards, so much so that even basic fairness has been thrown out the window.
