Bruce Cassidy: Coaching a Canadian team to a Stanley Cup would be ‘cool’

Perhaps the hottest coaching candidate in the NHL openly stated on Monday that winning a Stanley Cup in Canada would be cool.

As a Pacific Division rival of the Edmonton Oilers, Bruce Cassidy won a Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 and is viewed as one of the best coaches in the game. With just a few weeks left in the regular season, the Golden Knights stunned the hockey world, firing Cassidy amidst a lagging season with inconsistent results.

That leaves the 60-year-old in Cassidy available for a new gig.

He joined Leafs Morning Take and was asked if he’s ever thought about coaching a Canadian team.
