Splendour was my first UK festival - and I couldn't have wished for a better one
Not many things shape the summer of Brits as much as festivals do. Reading, Leeds and Glasto are events many look forward to, and secure tickets for, months and months in advance.
Despite having lived in the UK for many years, I have never had the chance to go to a festival until this year's Splendour came around - my only festival experiences have been in Germany and Austria. After a day filled with walking too many steps, typical British weather, more food than I'd normally eat in three days and absolutely amazing performances, I can say that I'm very glad Splendour was my first ever festival in the UK.
Greeted by the ever-so-typical British weather as I arrived at the gorgeous Wollaton Park, I noticed that nobody's spirit was low despite having their styled hair, make-up and outfits soaked. In Germany, this would have been met with a lot more frustration, but I feel like here complaints would have been louder had it been boiling hot.
Another pleasant experience I had was the opening of the gates. Whilst I expected people........
