Frew, of Lord Nelson Drive in Norwich, had previously pleaded guilty in June to both speeding and drink driving.
However he was arrested on September 16 after failing to attend a hearing at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court to consider an application for ‘special reasons’ defence over claims he was the victim of spiking.
David Foulkes, mitigating, told the court he was no longer claiming someone had spiked his coffee.
District judge David Wilson banned him from driving for three years and ordered he pay fines and costs totalling £900.
