Neighbour's backlash over bid to bulldoze pub

The Angel Gardens in Angel Road, near Waterloo Park, could be demolished to allow nine three-bedroom homes to be built after plans were put to City Hall last month.

However, fresh objections reveal some are unhappy with the scheme.

One person said: "The permanent loss of what was a valued community pub would be a great shame.

"The only attempt to find a new tenant I have seen was what seemed a very expensive asking price indeed for the building with a description that was at pains to make the property sound undesirable to any potential future landlord."
