Emma Dix has spoken out after a documentary revealed new details about how her son Joe Dix was manipulated into dealing drugs before his brutal murder in Vale Green.
Channel 4’s Social Media Monsters has prompted mixed comments about Mr Dix's death - with some saying the teen brought his misfortune upon himself.

However, Mrs Dix, who has been campaigning to raise awareness about grooming, said people are missing the point.

She said: "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you expect negative comments. But it is mostly people misunderstanding.
"There is no sense in tit for tat, at least people are talking about it.
"I am not saying Joe was an angel.
"There were two sides to him.
"But the reason he was like that was because he was groomed into it.
"Every single child is vulnerable. They do not have to come from a poor........
