A bid to demolish industrial units and a gatehouse in Hurricane Way and Liberator Road, at the Norwich Airport Industrial Estate (NAIE) has been given the green light by officials.

According to the plans submitted by Dove Unit Trust, the buildings are to be levelled to enable future redevelopment.

The application says it is required "to prepare the site for redevelopment through future planning applications."

The plans explain: "The sites are within the NAIE, which is predominantly occupied by commercial and light industrial uses.

"Demolition is required as the buildings have reached the end of their economic and functional lifespan and no longer provide viable accommodation or meet current environmental and construction standards.

"In summary, the proposed demolition works are necessary to maintain site safety and to provide flexibility for future use."

In 2025, the Jersey-based company Dove Unit Trust registered interest in five disused lots off Hurricane Way, eyeing up the site for the development of homes, industrial units and workspaces.
