Bomb squad called to quiet cul-de-sac after man finds grenade in chocolate tin

Danny Wyatt, 48, was clearing out a shed next to his house in Riverside Close, Hellesdon, when he discovered what is believed to be a grenade from the Second World War with its pin and lever still in.

The 48-year-old explained he reached his hand into an old Quality Street tin sat on a shelf in a dilapidated outbuilding in his garden, which was full of things that belonged to the previous owner of the house.

To his surprise, among some old light switches, he found the grenade.

Mr Wyatt, who works as a stage builder and lives in the picturesque lane with his wife and dog, has a theory on where........
