Norwich Labour selects new leader in wake of historic local election defeat |
Carli Harper has been chosen to replace Mike Stonard as the face of the group at Norwich City Council following a meeting of Labour councillors this week.
She takes charge of Norwich Labour, which has been reduced from 19 seats to just 12 after last Thursday's local elections, in which the Green Party swept to a historic majority at City Hall.
The Greens claimed five Labour seats to finish with 21 of the council's 39 seats - the first time the party has held a majority at the council.

Labour also lost two further seats to Reform UK, leaving the current makeup of the chamber as Greens on 21, Labour on 12, Liberal Democrats on three, Reform UK on two and one Independent.
It brings to an end........
