'Utter madness' - Norfolk council's 'shocking' work from home policy sparks row

Breckland Council has admitted that most of its staff are only required to work from the office two days a week, prompting calls for a change of culture amid growing concerns over council productivity.

Robin Hunter-Clarke, a Reform councillor at Breckland, said he “was shocked at the admission”.

“I’ve always struggled to find anyone in the building when I’ve been there and it can be quite difficult to get swift responses from officers - and now I know exactly why,” he said.

“I knew staff worked from home some of the time but I did not realise to this extent.
