Major route to fully reopen after weeks of closures |
Bracondale is currently closed to outbound traffic at the junction with King's Street, but a lane is still open for those travelling into the city.
Norfolk County Council has now advised that it "expects works to be complete and Bracondale to be fully open in both directions by midnight".
The closure on Bracondale in Norwich
It means football fans heading to and from Carrow Road to see the clash between Norwich City and Swansea, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, will not have to face delays.
The closure comes after emergency lane closures were put in place along Martiaue Lane and Bracondale after a member of the public reported a strong smell of gas in the area on March 26.
A spokesman for Cadent said: “While we are confident that we are in the final stages of the repair, we need to stress that final readings will need to be carried out and re-opening will only happen if we are 100pc certain that it is safe to do so."
