Beloved steam rally cancelled after 33 years due to rising costs and 'veteran trees'

The Strumpshaw Steam Rally, which sees around 40 large steam engines from the 19th and early 20th centuries on display, will not return in May.

Visitors were able to climb behind the wheel of an engine and take it for a spin at the event.

Organisers claim they were forced to cancel as "the cost of staging the rally has increased........
