Drivers stopping outside the terminal will now have to pay a whopping £8 for up to 20 minutes – up from the previous fee of £6 for 30 minutes, which came into force in December.

One passenger described the cost increase as “disgusting” and another called the decision “mad”.

Mark Streeter, boss of Courtesy Taxis, said that his drivers will have to pass on the full cost of the rise to customers.
