Norfolk's asylum hotel to close down after months of protests |
Home Office sources have said that the Brook Hotel, in Bowthorpe, will no longer be used to house migrants.
The venue, on the outskirts of Norwich, has been used as accommodation for asylum seekers since September 2022.
It has been the scene of frequent demonstrations, which intensified last summer when there were weekly protests and counter-protests, some attended by hundreds of people.

Several arrests were made and police eventually used so-called Section 34 powers to disperse people from the area to try to reduce the flashpoints.
The Brook Hotel has been used to house more than 200 asylum seekers, with the hotel one of more than 200 such venues in use around the country, providing accommodation for more than 30,000 migrants.
