Traffic chaos in city road constantly burdens neighbours

And with roadworks continuing on many of the major routes into and out of the county’s capital many are expecting long delays.

Already, those living near Chapelfield Road in Norwich are fed up with hundreds of vehicles queuing at a standstill to enter Chantry Place car park.

Steve Yarham, who lives in the Crescent opposite the ring road, described the constant traffic as “frustrating”.

He added: “People speed through the traffic lights to switch lanes and not get caught in the backlog."

CHRISTMAS CHAOS

This Saturday is expected to be one of the busiest shopping days before Christmas, with people coming from across Norfolk to shop in Norwich.

On top of this, the Canaries are playing at home with kick-off at 12.30pm.

In the city, there are 10 multi-storey car parks, including Chantry Place, Castle Quarter and Chapelfield Road is expected to become gridlocked.
