Wife of senior British diplomat found dead in Tokyo apartment

Rachel Ainley, 43, was found dead on August 29 at an apartment in the city’s Minato Ward.

The findings were set out in a Record of Inquest issued by Johanna Thompson, an area coroner for Norfolk, following the conclusion of an investigation.

She recorded that Dr Ainley had a history of mental health difficulties and that she “sadly took her own life”.
