Number of people dying in Norfolk due to alcohol still above pre-pandemic levels

Statistics released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that 124 alcohol-specific deaths were recorded in the county in 2024.

These are deaths caused entirely by alcohol, such as alcoholic liver disease.

In addition, a further 401 Norfolk deaths were classed as alcohol-related, meaning alcohol was a contributing factor.
