Toni's Barber Shop in the city's Plumstead Road already offers customers an array of cakes and hot drinks, but now it has applied to welcome punters for a sit-down meal.
If plans are approved the barbers will be able to serve alcohol from 8am to 10pm every day.
However, while the licence would cover that period the business says it currently only has plans to serve until 7pm.

The business also wants to offer takeaway food and alcohol, which will be served in sealed containers.
In the planning application, a spokesman for the business said: "The intention is to extend the refreshment offering to include breakfasts and light meals into the afternoon and early evening."
It comes as a number of city businesses are starting to offer alcohol alongside their usual trade.

Clockwork Barbers in St Gregorys Alley has opened a full bar and poker table and Pure Brides in Castle Meadow is offering brides and grooms a tipple ahead of their big day.
In its application, Toni's Barber Shop says it will provide alcohol training for its staff before the license begins and install CCTV.
It is hoped the licence will begin at the end of June.
