Police issued an appeal to the public for information after being called to reports of a robbery in Chapelfield Gardens on Tuesday, October 11.

The 25-year-old mum's handbag was snatched sometime between noon and 12.30pm that day.

A gold bangle from her baby's birth, an iPhone 8 and around £150 worth of cash was inside the bag at the time.

The woman's 61-year-old dad, who did not wish to be named, said: "She still feels very vulnerable.

"It was an unfortunate, isolated incident which could have happened to someone else.

"She now avoids the park. It's a painful memory and it was not a nice thing to happen when she was with a baby.

"She wants to try and get on with her life."

The robbery took place on the day of the wedding anniversary of the young mum's parents.

The Bethnal Green-born dad added: "It is not something you expect when you go out on a normal day with a baby at 12 in the afternoon."

Norfolk Constabulary previously issued an appeal trying to trace a suspect who was described as having short brown hair and was of slim build.

He was wearing a black puffa jacket and dark-coloured trousers at the time.

It is understood he made flight on a bike towards the Grapes Hill roundabout after the incident.

The family said they have not been made aware of any advances in the police investigation.

Norfolk Constabulary has been contacted on the progress of the investigation.

Anyone with information should contact PC Harriet Howard at Bethel Police Station quoting crime reference 36/79130/22 on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

In a separate incident, three teenagers were also arrested in connection with a robbery in Chapelfield Gardens during the evening of Sunday, October 30.

Enquiries led to three males being arrested in Dereham Road.

All three were bailed in relation to the remaining offences to appear at Wymondham police station on Friday, November 25.
