Businessman makes deadline for PCC election after securing signatures in the street |
Mr Pearcey, who will be running as an independent, only announced his intention to stand on Wednesday but was able get his name on the ballot by today's deadline.
Candidates need the signatures of 100 eligible voters on their nomination form and the businessman was on Norwich's Queen Street on Wednesday night asking members of the public to sign.
In a post of Facebook confirming he was standing, he said: "Proud to announce that I will be standing as your Independent Police & Crime Commissioner for Norfolk.
"I absolutely believe this role needs to be independent of politics.
"Over 25 years of business in Norfolk has taught me some valuable lessons, but one of the most important is to get out and listen to those you serve.
"I genuinely look forward to getting out across Norfolk and listening to your views about crime........
