Kerala MVD plans stringent action for unpaid traffic fines |
Thiruvananthapuram: After receiving multiple complaints from various quarters that many passengers who had violated traffic rules had failed to pay fines and thereby ignoring penalties, the Kerala Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) is preparing a stricter enforcement measure to ensure compliance and thereby curb repeating offences.
Under the proposed traffic system, traffic challans issued have to be electronically accepted within 3 days of the violation being noticed.
Motorists must either pay the fine within 45 days or submit proof to contest the violation. Failure........
