The government’s capital outlay for infrastructure surged to Rs 11.21 lakh crore in FY 2025–26, accounting for 3.1 per cent of GDP, as infrastructure emerged as a powerful multiplier of economic growth. By 2025, that multiplier began yielding visible returns.
