New Delhi: A specialist medical team from China, on Tuesday, reached Bangladesh for the treatment of former prime minister Khaleda Zia, who remains in a critical condition at a private hospital in Dhaka. The ailing politician, 80, has been admitted to the hospital since November 23.

Meanwhile, security has been stepped up around Evercare Hospital, where Zia is admitted, and over two dozen personnel have been deployed to regulate patients’ movement and reinforce Zia’s security, the Daily Star newspaper reported.

Khaleda Zia, who is the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson, was admitted to the hospital after she developed infections affecting her heart and lungs. She was later shifted to the coronary care unit........
