Michigan: A powerful winter storm triggered a massive chain-reaction crash involving more than 100 vehicles on a key highway in western Michigan on Monday morning, bringing traffic to a complete standstill and leaving motorists stranded in dangerous conditions.

The pileup occurred on Interstate 196 in Zeeland Township, roughly halfway between Grand Rapids and Holland, as heavy snowfall and strong winds sharply reduced visibility. Several semi-trucks skidded out of control and blocked multiple lanes, while cars were scattered across the roadway and median.
