WPL 2026 mega auction: Rs 40.8 cr spent, 67 players sold but which franchise had the best outing?

New Delhi: A total of 67 players got sold to five franchises as the Women’s Premier League (WPL) mega auction concluded in New Delhi on Thursday, November 27. The Indian cricketers were in focus right after their ODI World Cup triumph and were in massive demand among the five franchises. A total of 44 Indian players got sold in the mega auction.

Player of the tournament in the recently concluded Women’s ODI World Cup, Deepti Sharma, was the most expensive player of the day, bagging a massive amount of Rs 3.20 crore, which was 60 lakh more than her last auction price. She returned to her home team, UP Warriorz, after the franchise had released her ahead of the mega auction.

Amelia Kerr was the second biggest buy of the day, with the Mumbai Indians spending more than 52% of their purse to buy her at Rs 3 crore. Shikha........
