Delhi becomes state with the country's largest e-bus fleet: CM Rekha Gupta |
New Delhi: At a grand ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin and Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta flagged off 500 new electric buses, inducting them into the fleet of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The event on Sunday marked the start of the first anniversary celebrations of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Delhi that was reelected after 27 years on February 8 last year.
The Chief Minister said that with the addition of 500 new EV buses, Delhi has now become the state with the largest e-bus fleet in the country. On this historic occasion, the inter-state e-bus service between Delhi and Panipat was also inaugurated.
The special programme was attended by Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, Cabinet Ministers in the Delhi government Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh, Shri Ashish Sood, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Shri Ravinder Indraj, Shri Kapil Mishra; MLAs and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin said that the people of Delhi, by giving a historic majority to the BJP, have formed a strong and decisive government, and on the completion of one year of this government, he thanked the people of the state for their belief in the BJP.
Congratulating Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta in particular, he said that she is working with constant dedication to realise the vision of Delhi envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that gifting 500 new electric buses to the people of Delhi on the completion of one year of the government is a commendable and far-sighted step.
“The previous governments made big promises, put up hoardings and announcements, but results were not visible on the ground. However, our government has proved that it is a results-oriented government by delivering on the ground. The policy of zero tolerance against corruption, digital transparency in administration and accountability in decision-making have been clearly visible over the past year,” the BJP President........
