Two bears enter Uttarakhand’s Chamoli school, attack child; students rescue, villagers demand safety

Chamoli: Chamoli district in Uttarakhand is facing repeated bear attacks, creating panic among children, parents, and villagers. On Monday, two bears entered Harishankar Junior High School in Pokhari block. Students quickly closed the classroom gates, but one child was attacked and dragged into nearby bushes.

Hearing the child’s cries, two students, a girl, and a teacher showed courage. They shouted loudly and ran toward the bears. Frightened by the noise, the bears left the child and fled into the forest. The injured student was rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.

This incident has left students terrified. Teachers said they had already informed the forest department about bears roaming in the area, but patrols were not........
