New Delhi: The prestigious Nobel Peace Prize 2025 was awarded to María Corina Machado on Friday. She is a Venezuelan opposition leader and activist. The announcement of the award was made by the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo at 09:00 GMT (2:30 PM) IST. The announcements of the Nobel prizes in various categories began on October 6 and will continue till October 13.

The Peace Nobel however was in special focus this time, as US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that the prize must be awarded to him for stopping 7 wars across the world.
